Established in 1855, Kidderminster Town Hall has been at the heart of the community for 170 years. It has hosted a wide range of events and activities, bringing residents and visitors together and creating lasting memories.
Kidderminster Town Council is delivering a major transformation project to modernise and enhance the Town Hall, funded by the UK Government. Contractors Speller Metcalfe began work in January 2023, with key improvements including new spaces, a Courtyard roof, and a bar and café area. Works have been completed on the Mayor’s Balcony, mechanical and electrical installations, insulation and waterproofing of the King Charles Room roofs, and the Music Room ceiling.
The podium is currently under construction, funded by the UK Government, Kidderminster Town Council, the UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF) and the National Lottery Heritage Fund (NLHF). It will improve access to the Town Hall while being sympathetically designed to retain its historic character.
Alongside the transformation, the NLHF has supported conservation works and community engagement. This includes restoring the William Hill Organ Pipes and the King Charles I Portrait, as well as establishing a volunteers programme to involve the local community and share the Town Hall’s rich history.
